Compliance and Sanctions Screening

Lansarin does not allow its services to be used for money laundering, terrorist financing, financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, or sanctions evasion. This page explains whom we work with and how, how we check identities and lists, how we protect personal data, and how we cooperate with public authorities.

Who we are and what we do

LANSARİN ULUSLARARASI İDARİ DANIŞMANLIK VE TERCÜMANLIK TİCARET LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ is a translation and administrative consulting company based in Antalya, Türkiye. Our services:

  • Translation: sworn translation, notarised translation, apostille and consular legalisation, interpreting.
  • Administrative procedures for foreigners: preparing and following up residence permit and work permit applications.
  • Turkish citizenship applications: document preparation, translation, appointments and follow-up for citizenship by investment and other routes.
  • Company formation and business procedures: preparing incorporation documents, tax registration, documents for opening a bank account, and support in correspondence with the relevant authorities.
  • Other administrative matters: driving licence exchange, marriage, inheritance, title deed and similar procedures — document and translation support.

We do not provide legal services. For legal representation, court proceedings and legal opinions, our clients work with independent lawyers under the Turkish Attorneys Act (Law No. 1136). In such matters our role is limited to translation, document preparation and administrative support.

Our Compliance Policy

We have adopted a Know-Your-Customer, Automatic Identity Check, Sanctions Screening and Risk Assessment Policy (Compliance Policy). It takes into account Turkish Law No. 5549 on the Prevention of Laundering Proceeds of Crime, Law No. 6415 on the Prevention of the Financing of Terrorism, Law No. 7262 on the Prevention of Financing of Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction, the rules of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and the standards of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Our line of business is not currently listed among the obliged parties under Law No. 5549. We apply the Policy voluntarily because we work closely with obliged institutions — banks, payment institutions, notaries and real-estate agents — and because our clients come from many countries.

Whom we check

For every matter we identify and check four roles separately:

  • the client — the person or company ordering the service,
  • the document holder — the person named in the document being translated or processed,
  • the payer — the person making the payment,
  • the intermediary or representative — a person or organisation sending documents on someone else's behalf.

For corporate clients we also check the authorised representatives and the beneficial owners (persons holding more than 25 % or controlling the company).

What we check and how

1. Identification and automatic document checks. Before the service starts we identify the person from a valid official document. Our system automatically checks the check digits in the machine-readable zone (MRZ) of passports and ID cards, the document's validity and format, and the check digits of Turkish ID, foreigner ID and tax numbers. Data from the document, the translation and our records are compared; any inconsistency is referred to the compliance officer.

2. Sanctions screening. We screen persons and companies against official lists, updated daily, before the service, every week afterwards, and whenever a list adds new entries:

Names are searched in Latin and Cyrillic spelling and in common transliterations; date of birth, nationality and document number are compared. A similarity is not a finding: the compliance officer reviews every possible match against the documents and decides. Our system never makes an adverse decision about anyone on its own.

3. Risk assessment. For every person we calculate a transparent risk score from country (FATF and EU lists), type of service, payment method, amounts and the results of identity checks. Nationality alone is never treated as high risk. In high-risk cases we ask for a written declaration of the source of funds, and work starts only with the compliance officer's approval.

4. Payments. We never see or store card details; card payments are taken on the secure pages of licensed payment institutions. Large cash payments, payments by third parties and requests to refund to third parties are reviewed further.

Cooperation with public authorities

  • If we find a true sanctions match or have serious suspicion, we stop the service, obtain legal advice and, where required, report to MASAK.
  • We answer written requests based on law from courts, prosecutors, law enforcement, the Presidency of Migration Management and other competent authorities, after checking that the request comes from a competent authority and has a legal basis.
  • When we doubt the authenticity of a document or information, we use, where necessary, the official verification channels of the issuing authority, a notary or the relevant consulate.
  • Information requests from our partners — banks, payment institutions, notaries — under their legal obligations are answered by the compliance officer.

By law, we cannot tell anyone whether they have been reviewed or reported.

Data protection and security

  • Checks run inside our own systems: official lists are downloaded to our system and compared there. Names are not sent to search engines or AI services.
  • Screening and review details are visible only to the compliance officer and the deputy; other staff see only "check completed". Every view is logged.
  • Staff sign in with personal accounts and two-step verification (SMS code); permissions are role-based; all actions are logged; data travels over encrypted connections and is backed up regularly; staff sign confidentiality undertakings and are briefed at least once a year.
  • Compliance records are kept for eight years after the end of the relationship.
  • Details and your rights: Privacy Policy and KVKK Notice.

Sending documents on someone else's behalf

If you send documents for a family member, employee or client, you confirm that you share them with the document holder's knowledge and that you have informed the document holder of our Privacy Policy. The document holder may exercise their data rights by contacting us directly.

Refusal of service

We do not provide services to persons who do not allow identification, do not provide the information and documents requested, or whose risk assessment is unacceptable. We explain such decisions to the extent the law allows.

Transparency report

Every month we publish a report without personal data: number of persons screened, lists checked, possible matches reviewed and true matches. Small numbers are shown as "< 5" to prevent identification.
